Nigerian Army Inducts Eight Locally Made Combat Vehicles

The Chief of Army Staff, Tukur Buratai has announced that the Nigerian Army has inducted eight new units of indigenously produced combat vehicles Mine-Resistant, Ambush-Protected {MRAP}, also called “Ezugwu” into Operations Lafiya Dole and Sahel Sanity.

During the inauguration of the combat vehicles in Kaduna, Buratai noted that new equipment which was manufactured by the Command Engineering Depot, Kaduna and designed specifically to withstand improvised explosive device attacks and ambushes will aid the military in its operations against bandits and Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorist war in the North East.

A Smart Factory also called Additive Manufacturing Technology, Vehicles Assembly shop and Officers/Soldiers accommodation at Command Engineering Depot (CED) was also commissioned by Buratai who was represented at the event by Commandant Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), Jamil Sarham.

Police Arrest 20, Rescue More Victims After Killing Of 22 Travellers In Plateau

The Plateau State Police Command has arrested 20 suspects in connection with a recent deadly attack on travellers in Jos, the state capital. On Saturday, several travellers were attacked and killed by gunmen in the Jos North Local Government Area of the state. The travellers were reportedly passing through Jos when they ran into gunmen who opened fire on them. In a statement issued on Sunday by the force spokesperson, Frank Mba, the police have arrested 20 suspects while about 33 victims have been rescued.
