Thousands of Cattle Already Marching Into Cross River After Governor's Defection

  A farmer farmer shared a video showing thousands of cattle marching into Cross River State less than 24 hours after his public announcement about joining APC.  Some of the cattle which had been marching through for over an hour had already entered his farm which is situated in Wanikande in Yala LGA. According to the farmer, the herders said they didn't know where they were going and that the Alhaji who was in the big town knew. BREAKING: Ayade Dumps PDP For APC

Cross Rivers State Governor and APC leaders during the press briefing where he announced his defection to the APC. Cross Rivers State Governor Ben Ayade has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). Governor Ayade announced his decision on Thursday morning after a closed-door meeting with six APC governors and some members of the National Assembly who visited him at the Government House. Members of the state executive council were also at the meeting. The governors who visited Ayade include Abubakar Bagudu of Kebbi State; Hope Uzodinma of Imo State; Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State; Simon Lalong of Plateau State; Mohammed Abubakar of Jigawa State, and Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State.

Gunmen Attack Another Police Station In Cross River, Stole AK-47 Rifle “The hoodlums invaded the Police Station located at Ekori community of Yakurr with heavy weapons and attacked the officers,” the witness alleged. It was learnt that the assault happened in Ekori in the Yahuu Local Government Area of the state, according to the Daily Post.  An eyewitness, who spoke on condition of anonymity alleged that the gunmen took away one AK-47 after beating up policemen on duty. “The hoodlums invaded the Police Station located at Ekori community of Yakurr with heavy weapons and attacked the officers,” the witness alleged. According to him, the hoodlums scared away the officers on duty, beat one to pulp and got away with the AK-47 rifle of the policeman. It was learnt that the attack led to the closure of the Ekori Police Station indefinitely and officers ordered to move to Ugep Divisional Police, at the local government headquarters. Cross River State Governor Accused Of Covering Covid19 Cases In The State

The Cross River State chapter of the Nigerian Medical Association has withdrawn its services from all medical facilities in the state. Last week, Ikpeme Ikpeme, Chief Medical Director of UCTH had announced that five patients tested positive for COVID-19 in the hospital but the state government accused him of spreading falsehood. This was relayed in a letter addressed to the Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire, by the state chairman. Two of the samples came from the health workers in the UCTH, Mr Ikpeme said, adding that the workers were making “tremendous progress along the path of recovery”. The NCDC is put on notice that the Cross River State Government has  abandoned her responsibility of contact tracing, treatment and care for the five confirmed cases which may not be unconnected with the delay in publication of the results by NCDC.
