Son Of Nigeria's Ex-President Yar'Adua Remanded For Killing Four Persons, Secretly Released From Prison

 Aminu Yar'Adua, son of Nigeria's former    president, the late Umar Yar'Adua, who was recently remanded in prison for killing four persons, has been secretly released.  It  was reported that Aminu was remanded in prison custody last Thursday, after he was arraigned following charges bordering on dangerous driving. He was alleged to have knocked down six persons, killing four, including a two-year-old boy on June 23, 2021. According to the police's First Information Report (FIR) tendered in court by the prosecutor, Insp. Zakka Musa, the accused had while driving along Yola bye-pass on June 23, 2021, crushed six people as a result of excessive speeding. Nigerian Man Sentenced To Death In Malaysia For Killing Nurse

  Nigerian, Alowonle Oluwajuwon Gilbert, has been sentenced to death in Malaysia over the death of a nurse. Gilbert had been accused of killing Siti Kharina, the Chief Nurse of Serdang Hospital in Malaysia in 2019. On Wednesday, the High Court sent him to the gallows to be hanged after having been found guilty. Judge Ab Karim Ab Rahman gave the judgement after finding that the prosecution proved its case beyond reasonable doubts. According to the judge, Gilbert's testimony that he left the victim’s house on May 8, 2019, turned out to be false. The judge also noted that the accused claims contradicted the footage of a closed-circuit television camera at the Third Avenue Condominium, Cyberjaya, which recorded him leaving the premises on May 9. “ The testimony by the accused that he was no longer with the victim on May 8, 2019, and had left the residence by then, is merely a denial,“ the judge said. Nigerian army launches manhunt for soldier accused of killing lover

   The Nigerian Army says it has launched a manhunt for the soldier who allegedly killed his lover, Jennifer Ugadu, an undergraduate of Niger Delta University, Ammasoma, Bayelsa. The Director, Army Public Relations, Onyema Nwachukwu, said in a statement, on Thursday, it was alleged that the student was shot in her apartment by the suspect now at large. Nwachukwu, a brigadier-general, said there was no place for such barbaric act in the army, adding that the Nigerian army had commiserated with the family of the deceased. According to him, “ Nigeria army is an institution that is accountable to the people and would ensure the justice is served”. Nigeria Police Arrest Pastor With Human Skull

the Cross River Police Command have arrested the Pastor of United Evangelical Church, Michael Bassey, for unlawful possession of a human skull. The police also arrested 25 other suspects for various offences committed in the state. Speaking to journalists on Tuesday in Calabar, the capital of Cross River, the state police commissioner, Mr Sikiru Akande, said the pastor, 45, was arrested following a complaint of threat to life from a concerned citizen.  Akande said the suspect was arrested at No. 56 Uwanse by Asuquo Ekpo Street in Calabar South. “ The suspect was arrested with one human skull tied with the complainant’s picture and carved human image with red clothes. Investigation is still ongoing and the suspect will be arraigned in court ,” the police commissioner said. Prosecute my husband’s killers, widow of Imo Germany-bound man tells CP

  Widow of 42-year-old Oguchi Unachukwu, who was allegedly murdered by an air force officer in Imo State, Mrs Ijeoma Unachukwu, has asked the state Commissioner of Police, Abutu Yaro, to ensure that the killers do not escape justice. Oguchi, who was based in Hamburg, Germany, was heading to the Sam Mbakwe Airport, Owerri, on Monday, to catch a flight to Lagos preparatory to catching a Germany-bound flight same day when he was shot in the forehead at point-blank range by a suspected air force operative. The remains of the deceased were deposited in a morgue of the Federal Medical Centre, Owerri. The deceased was said to have been in Owerri for about three months and dedicated his second daughter in church two months ago. Senator_Akpabio Threatens To Sue Journalist, DavidHundeyin For Linking His Family With Murder Of Akwa Ibom Job Seeker

Minister of Niger Delta, Senator Godswill Akpabio says he will take legal action against an investigative journalist, David Hundeyin for publishing "false and defamatory statements" against him. The former senator, through a letter by his legal representatives gave the journalist 14 days to retract the publication against him and his wife, Mrs Ekaette Unoma Akpabio, or face the law.   Hundeyin posted a 3-page copy of the letter served him by Star Attorneys on his Twitter page on Thursday.
