Twitter said the video was a ‘potentially harmful information’.
Trump Jr had retweeted a viral video of Nigeria-trained doctor, Stella Immanuel, making some claims about hydroxychloroquine.
She had claimed that she has successfully treated more than 350 corona virus patients in the United States using hydroxychloroquine, zinc and Zithromax.
The doctor said this while addressing the media, after America’s Frontline Doctors Summit in front of the US Supreme Court in Washington DC on Monday, July 27.
Responding to a tweet by a republican @surabees, Twitter said the tweet violated its rules.
Surabees had said “BREAKING: @Twitter & @jack have suspended @DonaldJTrumpJr for posting a viral video of medical doctors talking about Hydroxychloroquine.
“Big Tech is the biggest threat to free expression in America today & they’re continuing to engage in open election interference.”
Twitter in response said, “This account has not been permanently suspended. Per the screenshot, the Tweet requires deletion because it violates our rules (sharing misinformation on COVID-19), and the account will have limited functionality for 12 hours.
‘‘We have determined that this account violated the Twitter Rules. Specifically, for: 1. Violating the policy on spreading misleading and potentially harmful information related to COVID-19,’’ it added.
