  The Lagos State Police boss, CP Hakeem Odumosu has vowed to tackle domestic violence in the state to a standstill as the Command has arrested a man, David Idibie, of Joado Street, Oke Ira Nla, Ajah Area of Lagos State, for the murder of his wife, a 42-year old, Juliana Idibie, of same address. P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on 16th February, 2021 at about 10pm. According to the report by the Lagos Police Spokesperson, CSP Muyiwa Adejobi, it was gathered that the deceased had engaged the husband in a hot argument on certain matrimonial issues and in the process, she slumped and sustained severe head injury. While lying in her pool of blood, the angry husband refused to rescue her until she gave up the ghost.

A judge of the Ekiti State High Court, Ado-Ekiti, on Wednesday, granted pardon to a rapist, Dennis Kiyede, just after he convicted him for raping a 16-year-old girl. John Adeyeye, the judge, said he pardoned Mr Kiyede because of his ill health. The accused was being prosecuted by the police on a one-count-charge of rape of his 16-year-old cousin. In his judgment, Mr Adeyeye noted that the prosecution had established that the offence of rape was committed by the accused person. “I find him guilty of the offence as charged and he is accordingly convicted,” he said. Four of the five suspects who are on trial for the April 5, 2018 Offa bank robbery in the Offa Local Government Area of Kwara State on Wednesday told a Kwara State High Court sitting in Ilorin how they killed no fewer than 11 persons during the incident. The suspects, Ayoade Akinnibosun, Ibikunle Ogunleye, Adeola Abraham, Azeez Salawu and Niyi Ogundiran, were all present in court during the trial. At the resumed hearing of the case, counsel for the prosecution, Mr. Rotimi Jacob, SAN, called the seventh witness, Inspector John Nwoke, who is the cinematographer attached to the Force Public Relations Unit, Abuja. Gov. Abubakar Sani-Bello of Niger on Wednesday confirmed the abduction of 27 students, three staff and 12 family members by gunmen at the Government Science College, Kagara, in Rafi Local Government Area of the state. Bello made the confirmation at a news conference shortly after an emergency meeting with heads of security agencies in Minna on Wednesday. Newsmen report that  the gunmen stormed the school on Wednesday at 2 a.m. killing one student and kidnapped 27, three staff of the college and 12 members of families at the school. The governor directed that all boarding schools in Shiroro, Rafi and Muyan be closed down with immediate effect until the situation improved. “I call on all Nigerlites to condemn all forms of criminality in the state,” he said. It was a mild drama on Sunday, the 11th December as a marine turtle was caught by the local fishermen at the 'Point Of No Return', a popular tourist attraction beach in Badagry, Lagos. A farmer in Ijugbere axis of Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State who identified himself as Adedayo  says Fulani herdsmen kidnapping in the area have generators and play music inside the forest where they hide their hostages.   Speaking to SaharaReporters on Monday, Adedayo condemned the killing of three farmers in the area during the weekend. He said the herdsmen invaded their farm around 7 pm on Saturday and descended on the farmers, killing three while he and others ran away from the farm.  The farmer said the incident had created tension in the area with some residents fleeing the community. He said,  “ When they kidnap, they bring people to the forest. Now, they have generators, play music in the forest.
